Privacy policy
Effective [Effective date]
This policy explains what [Company legal name] ("Nitro Clips", "we") collects when you use the Nitro Clips website, web app and mobile apps, how we use it, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email [privacy@your-domain].
What we collect
Account information
- Your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- If you sign in with Google or Apple, the name, email address and account identifier they share with us. We don't receive your Google or Apple password.
- Your plan, your onboarding answers (what you make and where you post) and your notification settings.
Videos you upload and what we make from them
- The video files you upload, pick or share into the app, and their technical details (length, size, format).
- Files we create to find and make your clips: a small preview copy, an audio track, a transcript with word timings, loudness and scene-change measurements, thumbnails, and the clips we render.
- Face positions for framing. To keep speakers in frame when we turn a video vertical, we detect where faces are in each frame (a box and a confidence score). We don't identify who anyone is, we don't create face templates or other biometric identifiers, and the face positions are deleted with the recording.
Connected social accounts
When you connect TikTok, YouTube or Instagram, we receive an access token from that platform and store it encrypted. We only use it to do what you ask: show who you're posting as, upload your clips and check their status.
| Platform | Permissions we ask for | What we access |
|---|---|---|
| TikTok | user.info.basic, video.upload, video.publish | Your display name and avatar, your posting options (such as allowed privacy levels), and the ability to upload and publish the clips you choose. |
| YouTube | youtube.upload | Your channel name and ID, and the ability to upload the clips you choose. We can't read, edit or delete your other videos. |
instagram_business_basic, instagram_business_content_publish | Your professional account's username, profile picture and publishing limit, and the ability to publish the Reels you choose. |
Payments
Paid plans are billed by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details; we never see or store your full card number. We keep your plan, subscription status and billing history.
Usage and device information
- Product analytics (for example, that an upload finished or a clip was posted, and how long processing took). Analytics never include your videos, transcripts or captions.
- Error reports from the app and our servers, so we can fix problems.
- Your IP address and browser or device type, used for security and to prevent abuse.
- Push notification tokens if you turn on notifications in the mobile app.
Media library access (mobile apps)
The mobile apps ask for access to your photo and video library only to show your videos and let you pick them. Nothing is read or uploaded until you pick or share a file. Videos shared into the app are copied to the app's own storage only long enough to upload them, and deleted within 24 hours.
Waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we store your email address, the page variant you signed up from and any campaign tags in the link you followed, so we can invite you and understand which campaigns work.
How we use it
- To run Nitro Clips: process your videos, suggest and render clips, and post them where you choose.
- To bill you, send service emails (such as "your clips are ready" or "a post failed") and answer support requests.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and enforce our Terms.
- To understand how the product is used, in aggregate, and improve it.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.
AI processing
Speech-to-text and face detection run on our own servers. To pick the best moments and write titles and captions, we send Anthropic's Claude the transcript of your video and a few still frames from the moments we're considering. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, this data isn't used to train its models, and we don't use your videos to train AI models either. AI suggestions can be wrong, so review clips and captions before you post.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that run Nitro Clips for us, and only what they need:
- Cloudflare: stores your uploads, previews and rendered clips.
- [Server hosting provider]: runs our servers and database.
- Anthropic: ranks moments and writes captions (see AI processing).
- Stripe: payments.
- Resend: email delivery.
- Sentry: error reports.
- PostHog: product analytics.
- Google and Apple: sign-in, if you use them.
- TikTok, YouTube and Instagram: the clips, captions and settings you choose to post.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our users or the service.
YouTube
Posting to YouTube uses YouTube API Services. By connecting YouTube, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's Privacy Policy applies to what Google receives. You can remove Nitro Clips' access at any time in your Google security settings or by disconnecting YouTube in Nitro Clips. When you disconnect, we delete the YouTube data we stored.
How long we keep it
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Original uploads, preview copies and audio tracks | 7 days after processing finishes |
| Face positions and analysis data | Deleted with the recording |
| Rendered clips | 7 days (Free), 30 days (Creator) or 90 days (Pro) after rendering |

| Unfinished uploads | 24 hours |
| Videos shared into the mobile app | Until uploaded, at most 24 hours |
| Connected-account tokens | Until you disconnect the account |
| Billing records | As long as tax and accounting laws require |
Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, and to object to or restrict some processing. Email [privacy@your-domain] and we'll respond within the time the law requires. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Data deletion instructions
To delete your data, use Delete account in Settings, or email [privacy@your-domain] from the address on your account. If you remove Nitro Clips from your Instagram or Facebook settings, Meta tells us and we delete the Instagram data we stored.
Cookies
We use a cookie to keep you signed in, which the service needs to work. Analytics cookies are used only where the law allows, and where consent is required we ask first.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Connected-account tokens are encrypted at rest. Files are downloaded through short-lived links, and access to your data is limited to your account and the staff who need it to run the service.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Children
Nitro Clips isn't meant for children under 13, or under the minimum age in your country. We don't knowingly collect their information; if you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
We'll post any changes here and update the effective date. For significant changes we'll also email you.
